The best restaurant in Göreme, indeed among the best in Cappadocia, is at the Ataman hotel (0384/271 2310). It's pricy for the village, but everything is immaculately prepared and served, from local specialties like Kayseri pastýrma (cured meat), baked in paper, to French soufflés and flambées. Expect to pay between $8 and $20 a head.
